Betrayal: A wound that may not heal

I think the reason betrayal hurts so much is because it usually comes from a loved one. Bukola Elegede, (a.k.a Asha ) sang:  " So it was you, it was really you, you picked up the knife, then you cut me into two, you stabbed me at the back, then you twisted it in..."  Your enemy cannot betray you only your friend can. Why?  Firstly, it is because we usually have 'no deal' with our enemies where we would expect their loyalty.  Secondly,it is also because we don't usually confide in our enemies, we confide in our friends, family or spouse and we usually expect them to be loyal to us.  Events around the world have shown that the people we confide in may sometimes(if not most times) betray us, we have heard of stories of spouses betraying each other, brothers betraying brothers, sisters betraying sisters, children betraying parents and so on. The common thing about all these betrayals is that they involve two parties that had trusted each other before.  N
